ABSTRACT

Barristers Overall control is by the Bar Council, which lays down a code of conduct for barristers covering rules of ethics and etiquette at the Bar. Complaints about misconduct are dealt with by the Professional Conduct and Complaints Committee, and compensation may be awarded to the victims of inadequate service. If a serious complaint is upheld, a barrister may be suspended or disbarred from further practice.
