ABSTRACT
Sentencing options available to a court range from custodial sentences such as imprisonment to non-custodial sentences such as a fine. There are many factors that may influence a judge in deciding on an appropriate sentence for an offender. A framework of sentencing options and policy is contained in the Powers of the Criminal Courts Act 2000.
