ABSTRACT

You should have gathered by now that this is not a conventional law book. It sets out to be user-friendly and to deal with everyday problems rather than abstract concepts (we save the abstract concepts for the final chapter, which you are welcome to skip if such things bore you). Parts 1 and 2 of this book deal with the employment relationship – everything from the general concept of employment down to the nuts and bolts of the contractual relationship. It’s absolutely imperative that you understand your employees’ rights fully – otherwise how can you ensure that you’re being a good employer? So, Part 2 runs through these rights in detail.
