ABSTRACT
According to s 1 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 you are entitled to a written statement of the terms and conditions of employment within two months of starting work for an employer. The law provides that this statement may be given to you in instalments. It sets down that it must contain certain information. We set out a contract of employment below, together with some commentary explaining what you will find in the contract and how it affects your rights at work.
