Separation and children

You are talking about people, not possessions, here. It has always been self-evident that the children’s needs must come first, and in the 1989 Children Act (see p 88) the law spelt this out: the word the Act uses is paramount. Our thesaurus suggests chief, principal, supreme, dominant, central, overriding … you get the idea – children come first!
