A claim using this system is started off in the Northampton County Court but it will be transferred to the defendant’s home court if (and here we quote from the website itself):
1 The defendant is an individual and Northampton County Court is not their home court, and if: the defendant applies to set aside or vary judgment; there is to be a hearing for the judge to determine
the time and rate of payment; a defence is filed to all or part of the claim; or either party makes an application which cannot be
dealt with without a hearing.
