ABSTRACT
The principal differences between time and voyage charters have already been discussed in Chapter 9. In this chapter we shall now consider two of those differences in more detail. First, we shall consider the remedy of withdrawal which is available to the shipowner in the event of non-payment of hire under a time charter. Secondly, we shall consider the different contractual mechanism adopted for allocating the risk of loss of time during the currency of the charter.
