ABSTRACT

Storytelling is an opportunity for disputants to tell their stories to the other side, without interruption, usually for the first time. Disputants can talk about whatever they want, regardless of the relevance to the dispute. There is no issue of ‘admissibility of evidence’ in the storytelling. The disputants have the opportunity to present their views with no one interrupting, even to ask clarifying questions. Often, their views are also their positions, though sometimes they talk about their underlying interests and the possibilities for settlement.
