ABSTRACT
One of the more telling definitions of the word “panic” is “groundless fear.” Everyone I know agrees that to be grounded is good; to be groundless is frightful. The social being of such a good relies on its appeal to popular sentiment. In modern culture “being grounded” is just about as good as it gets.
