ABSTRACT

Pascoe v Turner (1979) CA X and Y cohabited for 10 years in a house which X had bought in his own name. X left Y so as to live with another woman and told Y that the house and all its contents would be hers. Y relied on this statement and spent her money on improvements and repairs to the property. X did not convey the house to Y. X sought to evict Y and a possession action was dismissed by the county court. X appealed.
