ABSTRACT
J v J (A Minor: Property Transfer) (1993) X and Y were unmarried, but X’s child had been treated as a member of the family for the 10 years during which X and Y cohabited. They were joint tenants of the council house which they occupied. Following the ending of the relationship, X applied for a transfer of the tenancy to herself for the benefit of the child, under the terms of s 15(1) Ch A 1989.
