ABSTRACT
There are a number of defences to the offence. Four are limited in scope. The fifth is the ‘due diligence’ defence, found in other legislation. This provides that it shall be a defence for a person to show that he took all reasonable steps and exercised all due diligence to avoid committing an offence.
