ABSTRACT
The preceding section is based upon the assumption that a comprehensive definition is difficult, if not impossible, to establish. This section will examine the validity of this assumption and outline the reasons why a definition of stalking has proved to be so elusive. This examination will be based upon a consideration of the debates surrounding the definitional issues that arose during the enactment of the Protection from Harassment Act and an evaluation of the approach taken to the definition of stalking in Australia.
