ABSTRACT

Various authors hypothesize that representations vary in the same individuals as a function of changes in their experiences. Experimentation is an ideal method for studying the dynamics of these changes, and it can use several of the techniques described in this book to form these dependent variables. We will end this chapter on anchoring, however, by illustrating a new technique that has proved useful for studying the relationship between representations and changes in occupational status during a comparative and non-experimental study designed primarily to test a new method of textual data analysis by CFA.
