ABSTRACT
Other problems exist as to whether other entities should have rights and thereby expect protection in law so that where injury, loss or damage is caused, liability should be imposed. An interesting suggestion has been made that man’s nearest relative in the animal kingdom, the chimpanzee, should have rights accorded to it. If this results, then legal liability would be owed to chimps so as not to break those rights.
