ABSTRACT

A code of practice has been set up in relation to the conduct of members, which states among other matters that they must all abide by the relevant legislation.

There are also useful procedural requirements, such as that the consumer should be made aware where appropriate of the availability of credit protection insurance. An FLA member also has to interview personally any credit broker, whose services that member proposes to use for the first time. Members must also be satisfied of any consumer’s ability to pay.
