ABSTRACT
All the decided cases seem to deal with threats to the claimant himself and not to a third party. Nevertheless, there is no reason to think that any different result would follow in the case of threats to others. It would be extremely odd if a bank could not recover money paid to a robber who threatened to shoot an innocent and unconnected hostage.
