ABSTRACT
This chapter will address the interrelated social phenomena of youth cultures, drug use and criminality. First, however, we need to define the terms we are using. This is not a purely semantic exercise, as social sources of power reside in these definitions. ‘Drug misuse’ is a socially and historically defined problem.
