ABSTRACT

One enters the largest Turkish interest group in Europe through a parking lot, filled almost exclusively with Mercedes automobiles that are supposed to symbolize political and financial power. It is not until one sees the sign that indicates a separate “entrance for women” into the building that one puts two and two together. These are the headquarters of the European National Outlook Organization (AMGT) or, by its new name, the Islamic Community-National Outlook (IGMG) in Cologne—the largest Islamist network outside of Turkey. 1
