This may be achieved in a number of ways. The rent may be adjusted: • by fixed amounts at stated intervals; • by linking it to an index of prices such as the Retail Price Index; • by linking it to the tenant’s turnover; • by linking it to the rent payable under a headlease or sub-lease of

the property; or • as is usually the case, by reviewing it at intervals to the current open

market rent.
