ABSTRACT
From 1 April 2000, public funding through the Community Legal Service (CLS) is available on a more limited basis under the Access to Justice Act (AJA) 1999. At that date, the administration of public funding was transferred from the Legal Aid Board (which ceased to exist) to its new incarnation, the Legal Services Commission (LSC).
