ABSTRACT

If the solicitor or his client is aware that the debtor is in employment, then this could be an effective procedure whereby payments would be automatically deducted from the debtor’s wages and paid to the court. Despite the changes in the county court s banking function from 1 April 1990, the court will still receive payments under full attachment of earnings orders and in cases of maintenance only for suspended attachment of earnings orders. It is the Centralised Attachment of Earnings Payment System (CAPS) in Northampton that is responsible for collecting payments.
