ABSTRACT
This chapter draws on a survey of school-age childcare in the member states of the European Union (Meijvogel and Petrie, 1996), undertaken by the author, who is coordinator and founder of the European Network for School-age Childcare (ENSAC). ENSAC is a network which operates throughout Europe and is not confined to the EU.
