ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to examine a number of matters, namely: (a) the jurisdiction of the English courts to entertain proceedings for divorce, separation and nullity; (b) the choice of law in suits for divorce, separation and nullity; (c) the extent to which the orders of foreign courts are recognised; and (d) the power of English courts to grant financial relief and recognise foreign maintenance orders.
