ABSTRACT
As is only to be expected, Parliament is continuing to make new Acts of Parliament every year. Some of the new Acts replace older ones, but most of the new Acts are in addition to the Acts of Parliament already in existence. Year by year, therefore, the total number of Acts of Parliament continues to increase. Even if a Parliament were to carry out a thorough spring-cleaning of its statute books, its statutes would fill a very large number of pages.
