ABSTRACT
In the two previous chapters I have emphasized that the boundaries of groups are precise only in terms of design; in practice they are quite open. Whatever a group activity is set up for, however definite its focus, its intended material, or its start and its finish, people's experience of the past or of the current context will be drawn into it, as will their hopes or concerns for the future.
