ABSTRACT
Final judgments are directly enforceable by use of ‘enforcement papers’, which are sent to the defendant’s home address, his place of work, his bank or to a government body. In criminal procedure the criminal court is responsible for enforcement. In civil procedure enforcement is left to the winning party. It is not particularly costly to seek enforcement. Enforcement is usually only a problem where the defendant is insolvent or impossible to find.
