ABSTRACT
Kelsen (1881-1973) was an Austrian-American jurist, committed to the doctrines of positivism, who wrote the Austrian Constitution (adopted in 1920), became a judge of the Austrian Supreme Constitutional Court and, after emigrating to the US, participated in the drafting of the Charter of the United Nations.
