ABSTRACT
The implications are wide ranging. Our example of the process of setting up a policy and procedure document and an information pack for Day Care for young children is an example of the workload placed on Inspection Units to implement the requirements of the Children Act 1989; Community Care Act 1990; Registered Homes (Amendment) Act 1991. There are also the requirements to produce policy and procedures to set up and maintain standards of practice; to involve and consult interested parties and to have both an advisory and regulatory function.
