ABSTRACT
Ownership and occupation of land has been central to the historical development of civil law. Land often represents the largest capital investment for its owners; it also represents emotional bonds as it can be, and often is, a home and a refuge. When ownership or occupation is challenged it often produces stressful disputes between neighbours. In many cases the best advice you can give a client is to settle the dispute without going to law.
