To integrate the profiling of student skills into a large modular course, emphasizing our approach to a 'capability curriculum' that is delivered through the methods used in teaching. It is useful to distinguish between profiling, a formative process which puts students at the centre of planning and monitoring their learning. Solutions to the problems of integrating profiling into the modular course has a significant change in the attitude of staff to skills they develop own confidence in integrating skills and profiling to the concerns of their discipline. Personal profiling offers a way of enabling students to consider systematically the choices they make in designing their course and to make an informed choice of the skills.
