For most of the 20th century, trade union activity in Paraguay was either prohibited or severely circumscribed. The CPT was founded in 1951 and claims 43,500 members from 189 affiliated unions.

Revolutionary Confederation of Mexican Workers

F. in 1918 as a regional organization of the Second International, the CROM formed the basis of power of Mexican governments in the 1920s and the early 1930s, but its influence waned after the election of Lázaro Cárdenas in 1934 and it was displaced by the Confederación de Trabajadores de México.
