ABSTRACT

The university's commitment to personal competence profiling was implemented in the Business School through projects seeking to develop profiling approaches for particular courses. The projects focused on profile packages with the objective of enabling students to articulate and communicate what they can do, using the language of transferable skills. Profiling projects would seek to help students to recognise and assess the skills they possess or have gained or enhanced, and to be able to demonstrate these to prospective employers. Ideally the process would begin at the start of a programme of study, carry on throughout the programme and culminate at the point of employment, on graduation.
