ABSTRACT

During the autumn term of 1991/2, in the very first months of the University of North London's five-year initiative in Enterprise in Higher Education (EHE), a principal area of discussion among managers and faculty coordinators of the project was 'profiling'. I was coordinator for the Faculty of Humanities and Teacher Education between 1991 and 1993, the remaining 50 per cent of my timetable being devoted to the area of Film Studies, of which I have been full-time (day) subject tutor since its inception in 1984.
