ABSTRACT
In the spring of 1965 the war was going badly for the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces (RVNAF). For the most part the VC left US forces alone and concentrated on ARVN units, apparently in the belief that they could defeat them before the Americans could deploy sufficient ground forces.
