ABSTRACT

SUMMARY Any university that chooses to ignore the current developments in flexible learning resources does so at its peril, risking the loss of important opportunities for enabling autonomous student learning and the potential to provide exciting, adaptable and cost-effective curriculum delivery methods.

This chapter aims to examine some of the key questions and issues associated with flexible learning resources in higher education in the 1990s. It also suggests strategies for those who wish to extend their repertoire of teaching and learning techniques by developing a greater variety of improved resources for learning.
