Although you will probably have a face-to-face interview with the person who assesses you for these awards, you will need to assemble a portfolio of evidence to support your claim. Your assessor will use this portfolio as a means of judging whether you can plan and assess GNVQs. She or he will also use it as basis for questioning you in more depth on your understanding of the process. If you are already teaching GNVQs then you will have experience of students’ portfolios; however this may be the first time that you have compiled a portfolio yourself. This chapter gives some guidelines on this process and provides a chart which summarizes the evidence indicators you will need to produce for the GPA units.
