ABSTRACT
A woman came forward to offer her story; she brought with her a sack full of books and pamphlets. Before speaking she rifled through her collection, selecting key works and marking pages. Although her face was tired, drawn, lined, she seemed quite sure of herself. She cleared her throat noisily and addressed the court as if there was a stadium full of people.
