ABSTRACT

Assignments requiring students to work in groups have a number of benefits, both academically and more generally in terms of skills development. Group work gives students the opportunity to explore a topic more deeply, prompted by alternative viewpoints and contributions. Many skills can be developed, including those related to research, time and project management, and in the interpersonal domain.
