ABSTRACT

Contemporary crime prevention policy relies increasingly upon a partnership or multiagency approach that takes in contributions from a range of agencies other than the two considered in the previous chapter. This includes those within the statutory sector, such as local authorities, but also those outside of it, in the voluntary, private and informal sectors. It is these agencies that form the focus of this chapter, and each shall be looked at in turn in the context of government policy, and in terms of the potential contribution they can make to crime prevention strategies.
