ABSTRACT
No one can doubt that the Russian revolution was a seismic convulsion along deep fault lines in Russian society inherited from its recent, and not so recent, past. We can start to draw the main force fields of this cataclysm together by looking at the structural tensions and then conclude with some broad speculations.
