ABSTRACT

Developing learning materials is a task that requires systematic planning to ensure that they are delivered on time to the learners. It is essential that those guiding the development of learning materials understand the fundamentals of task analysis enough to be able to break down the four areas of course development into their various components and assign each of those components a realistic time line so the Job can be completed within the given time frame.

This chapter will review the concept of working backwards to establish a viable time line and describe how a typical learning materials project can be broken into sub-systems and how those sub-systems are linked together to enable you to get an overall picture of the project.
