ABSTRACT

The Greenwich Waterfront Partnership area is made up of approximately 1012 ha of the London Borough of Greenwich and includes about 11 km of the south bank of the River Thames, with almost half the area lying in Thamesmead town. The London Docklands Development Corporation operates in part of Southwark to the west and on the north bank of the Thames. The area has a resident population of about 70 000 living in several identifiable communities, such as Deptford Creek, Greenwich town centre, East Greenwich, Woolwich and Thamesmead.
