ABSTRACT
Around 200 million newspapers are sold in the UK each week and millions more free papers are read. Britain has 21 national newspapers, 89 regional dailies and more than 1500 local weeklies. In fact nowhere in the world are newspapers read so much-for example, the British buy three times as many papers per head as France.
