ABSTRACT

Infantile spasms (West Syndrome) and right temporal lobe epilepsy with a focal cortical dysplasia.

The child underwent surgical resection of the right temporal pole without intracranial EEG recording. She has been seizure-free for 3 years and without antiepileptic drugs for 2 years. Language and behaviour improved when she was aged 5, though she continues to have mild mental retardation.
