ABSTRACT
His second convulsion occurred 6 months later at his fraternity house, the day after a night of heavy drinking with friends. Urinary incontinence and a violent postictal phase were noted in the paramedics’ report. His phenytoin level was therapeutic at 17 mg/l. The seizure was attributed to alcohol withdrawal; nevertheless, a neurological evaluation was requested.
