ABSTRACT
As early as the 1960s, the value of computers as educational tools became apparent through both private and commercial investigation. Funding, operational complexities and the perceived threat computers posed to some sectors of the education system were, however, obstacles to their widespread use. It is interesting to note that these obstacles still exist today.
