ABSTRACT

The following case study uses the values and perceptions of the child, parents and teachers as the raw material for finding common goals, breaking unhelpful sequences and constructing a successful outcome to a problem. In the initial stages of the counselling process, we gather as much information as possible, we never argue with parents, even if they argue with us, but we ask ourselves: ‘Will I look for obstacles in the opportunities that arise, or for opportunities in the obstacles that arise?’
