ABSTRACT

In this chapter (based on an extract from P. Cooper (2001) What Works in Alternatives to Mainstream Educational Provision for Children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, London: Barnardos) consideration is given to a number of UK programmes which deal with cross-sector and cross-agency liaison. The intention is to illustrate some of the ways in which knowledge and expertise from different sources can be combined to meet the needs of students with serious social, emotional and behavioural problems.
