Dance on film or video can be a transcendental experience. It can take you to the land of the gods, to another place, to another emotion-or just induce an out-ofbody experience. Motion and emotion in Canadian dance/film may be defined by our northern exposure and the call of our wild, especially if the cliché that Canadian art is informed in some measure by our physical geography is true.2
